<Andy[m]> "Is there any way to troubleshoot..." <- I'm not that familiar with Arduino, but here's what I'd try:

Disconnect everything. Plug in the programmer. Run `dmesg -T`; the last bit should show the programmer connecting to Linux. Run `lsusb`. You should be able to see the programmer.

Cable the programmer to the Every. Power the Every. Try again.

If that doesn't work, you may want to repeat all this with C and Arduino environment to make sure things are OK.
