Silly question: can recent versions of Zerocopy effectively take the place of a serializer like BinarySerde?

I think maybe it might be viable for something like settings stored in external flash connected to a microcontroller

Has anyone ever tried this before?

I often have structs with various parameters, and am trying to figure out how to do it ergonomically (really, I'd like to wrap my settings structs with an ID and CRC)
