* for BLE you can either use

- the old "softdevice" blob + the nrf-softdevice crate. works well, fully certified, in "maintenance mode" by nordic
- the new "softdevice controller"  + nrf-sdc crate + the trouble-host BLE stack. In theory it needs trouble to get certified if you want to ship it in a commercial product.
- trouble + nimble opensouce ble controller. I think this allows for blob-free BLE but i'm not sure how mature it is.
