I'll not be spending any more time on the RFC, I don't think. The solution to portability isn't to pretend that different platforms aren't different, which seems to be what everyone in conversation is demanding, but to make managing these differences approachable and ergonomic. Instead of discussing strategies to achieve the latter, I now learn that this project has enshrined the approach of the former. Probably explains why I've been frustrated. I sympathise with the author of embedded-time. He made an excellent library, but all for seemingly nothing.
