Like I said - you do you! But definitely keep an eye on the big picture, and it's much easier for folks to discuss concrete impl details and existing code than amorphous idea - it's very easy to talk in circles for hours on fuzzy ideas, vs direct feedback on actual code.

Again - I strongly suggest you go build something, play with it, and come back and show off your very awesome and very working trait and hal and driver impls, I think you will get better feedback, less resistance, and have a more productive time getting things upstreamed.
