if anyone wants another $0.02 of my thoughts, before we start discussing this **next year**, it would be astoundingly helpful to have a written doc/blog post/issue comment/whatever that discusses:

* what svd2rust/chiptool do, high level
* some comparisons about what they do for peripheral, register, and field level access
* what things they don't do, but are related topics (like all the yaml/svd/patching machinery)
