yep! The usual process for upstreaming to e-hal is:

* write your own trait as an external crate (w/ embedded-time: check!)
* Make sure it works on multiple devices (I think also check with embedded-time)
* open an RFC in the wg repo to discuss upstreaming (not sure if this ever happened with embedded-time)
